I mention all the time that The Salvation Army is there for our community and here's the latest example of the great work that they do.

The Salvation Army will provide clean up kits and other assistance to Tioga County and Sayre residents affected by the severe weather, rain and flooding during the past several days.

The Salvation Army Empire State Division Emergency Disaster Services will be providing assistance to anyone from Tioga County impacted by the recent flooding at the Community Care Network of Nichols 139 Roki Blvd, Nichols.

This includes things like flood clean up kits, vouchers for The Salvation Army Family Stores for replacement clothing, and gift cards for replacement food. They are providing assistance during normal business hours for the rest of the week or until all the needs are meet.

The Salvation Army has been providing Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) in the US since 1900. The Salvation Army provides beverages, meals, cleanup kids and other assistance including emotional care to first responders and survivors.

This is why event's like Bikers for Backpacks is so important. It supports programs associated with The Salvation Army. Find out more about the motorcycle event happening on Saturday, August 5th here.
