A brave group of students jumped into a pool full of ice water in 16 degree temperatures today on the Quad in tribute to Professor Wesley A. Warren. Plungers obtained pledges for each minute they could last in the frigid water and temperatures. The longer they stayed in the water, the more money they raised!

The third annual event will raised funds for the Wes Warren Memorial Scholarship. Warren, a Criminal Justice professor, beat out all the other contestants in the first Plunge, held in February 2013.

Students in SUNY Broome’s Hospitality program are helped to coordinate the event. For sale were bags of icethat could be purchased for one reason only. To make the pool water even colder!

Here's the tribute video made for Professor Warren, in case you want to learn a little more about the man the polar plunge today was a tribute to.
