We were a Dog Foster Family and currently are a Dog Forever Family with CJ. What an awesome experience for us. If you ever thought about adopting a dog, we highly suggest getting a rescue dog. There are several places to get one. You can find out inside.

Some might say that we are obsessed with our dog. Are you? Here are some of the signs.

5) If your dog has it's own Instagram account or Facebook page.....you might be obsessed.

4) If you dress your dog in costumes when it's not Halloween....you might be obsessed.

3) If you select a different chair because your dog is already in yours....you might be obsessed.

2) If you kept your old answering machine, so you could call your  house and talk to the dog....you might be obsessed.

1) If you secretly name your dog after an ex boyfriend/girlfriend....you're not obsessed with your DOG, necessarily.

Seriously though, there are several shelters that are also awesome if you want to adopt a pet. We've fostered through Cayuga Dog Rescue.

Locally there's the Broome County Animal Care Council.  It's a local, almost 100% volunteer, non-profit organization with a mission to reduce the population of unwanted animals. It's an aggressive, low cost spay/neuter program.

They rescue homeless animals and provide shelter for them, and adopt out to good homes.  ACC has a public shelter at 131 Washington Avenue, Endicott, as well as a network of foster homes for cats and dogs.

Another one is Pibbles & More Animal Rescue. They have been desperately trying to find more fosters here in the Binghamton area. They want to save more dogs in need. Find out more about them here.

Fostering or adopting rescue dogs is an experience that has been more rewarding than we imagined.
