The Meet the Binghamton Rumble Ponies Dinner was last night. We got a preview of things to come for the upcoming season from Rumble Ponies president John Hughes. There is a lot to look forward to for this upcoming season. We also  found out what the name of new mascot is. Find out at the end.

So while I was at the dinner, I had a chance to ask the Rumble Ponies groundskeeper on the status of NYSEG Stadium and will it be ready in time for the home opener next Thursday?

Winter Storm Stella had put a dent in their plans. I was assured that it will indeed be ready for next week. Tomorrow, we'll all found out when Senator Fred Akshar, Mayor Richard David, and John Hughes check out the construction and renovations at the stadium.

The event will take place in the parking lot beyond the the right field fence at 11:30 am.

As you may know, $2.5-million has been given to upgrade NYSEG Stadium including a new 144 person picnic party deck on the right field line, updated stadium lighting, new third base terrace, new batting cage, renovated luxury suites, a relocated Rumble Ponies bullpen and more.

Let's get ready to rumble and get your tickets for opening day. New name, new look stadium and a new mascot. So what is the new name? Here's the list that you had to choose from.

The name of the new mascot is......Rowdy.
