The holiday creep isn't very far away and if just thinking about having to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners with your in-laws is enough to make you feel like you've been hit with a sudden case of food poisoning, take a deep breath and know that it's all going to be just fine.

Despite what you and most likely the majority of the world might believe, spending time with your mother and father in law isn't only a good thing for you, but it'll also do wonders for your marriage. I mean, if it's on the internet and if researchers say it's true, it must be, right?

I wouldn't fault you if you were to disagree, but according to the Daily Mail, people who make sure, and go out of their way, to have regular contact with both their mother-in-law and their father-in-law find that they're more satisfied with and happier in their lives.

Want to really tip the happy scales? Work on having a good relationship with both your mom and your mother-in-law. Sure, it might be easier to stuff yourself in the corner and pretend like you're busy to avoid interaction, but it can't hurt to try to mend some fences and create some sort of relationship.

Imagine how much easier time spent at your in-laws would be if everyone was happy with each other.
