It's a sign that the end is near.....No, not the end of time but the end of summer and the racing season in the Southern Tier.

Five Mile Point Speedway is having their final race of their 67th consecutive season on Saturday with the Great Crate Race. It's a fun filled family event with plenty of treats and maybe a few tricks.

Saturday is "trick or treating" with the starting field before the Great Crate Sportsman 67 lap finale. The drivers can bring their cars to the starting grid, exit their cars and kids will be able to go car to car “trick or treating”.

There'll be a costume and pumpkin contest for all kids on Saturday too. Sticking with the Halloween theme, many teams will be redoing their paint schemes in “spooky” fashion again this season.

The best Halloween-themed race car design will get a $50 bonus. Friday is a special practice session beginning at 5:30 pm with the racing on Saturday starting at 4 pm.

As always, kids 12 years and younger get in free in the grandstand area. Find out how to save money with the Family Five Pack along with info and any updates here.
