Most of us know by now all the great things that the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier (MHAST) does for our community. I also think it's awesome that they do events that are entertaining and at the same time benefiting them. Talk about your win-win.

This event is no exception. The Self Help Independence Project’s (SHIP) Fundamental Follies Theatre Company at the MHAST presents a poetic performance of "The Beat Goes On..."

It's at the Know Theatre, 74 Carroll Street in Binghamton on Wednesday, October 25th. There will be two one-hour performances of poetry and song at 2 pm and 7 pm.

"The Beat Goes On....".is a trip back in time to the Beat Generation. A time when old and restrictive ideas were challenged by a new generation looking to break stereotypes and try to find acceptance and hope in their future.

Admission is free but donations will be gladly accepted. I highly suggest that you donate generously because after all, you are helping those that need it in the Southern Tier.

You can find out more about this by calling (607) 771-8888 or go here. So don't be a cube or square and get hip and join them as they embrace the message of the Beat Generation....Accept one another for who they are.
