Everyone loves looking at Christmas lights.  Some people are more serious about it than others.  I've always envied people around the Greater Binghamton area that take the time to put thousands of lights up, with some even setting the light show to music.  I'm thinking these people must start making their light plans sometime around July.

There's a cool new reality show competition that kicks off tonight on ABC-TV, WIVT in Binghamton.

"The Great Christmas Light Fight" is a new competition series in which 20 families from across America will decorate their homes to the extreme for Christmas, in ways that would certainly make even Clark Griswold envious - with a total of $250,000 in prizing ($50,000 won each week).
"The Great Christmas Light Fight" will air on Monday Nights beginning tonight at 9:00.  and will run through December 23rd.  Michael Moloney & Sabrina Soto, who you may know from "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition", will serve as judges.

In the first Christmas lights competition of its kind for television, 4 families will compete each week to transform their homes for the holidays in just 21 days. These 20 families were chosen through an extensive nationwide search based on their previous elaborate Christmas light displays, incredible choreography and over-the-top designs.

It sounds like a fun family show that should get a large audience.  A good show to wrap your presents to or DVR it to watch later with the family.
