Does your teen need some help with driving tips?  There's a great opportunity happening Thursday October 16th from 9am-1:30pm at the Binghamton Arena with a free Teen Driver Safety Day for all high school students.
The Broome County Stop DWI New York is teaming up with a national insurance company covering everything from safety belt demos by the NYS Police to distracting exercises, an impaired simulation, and even motorcycle safety awareness.

Joe McCormack, NYS Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor, will address the students on the consequences of distracted and impaired driving. Representatives from Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo and Assemblyman Clifford Crouch offices are also expected.

Binghamton High School is registered for Celebrate My Drive powered by State Farm and is in the running for a share in millions of dollars in grant awards, and maybe even one of two private concerts by The Band Perry.  Students and communities are working together to heighten awareness about safe driving and asking for online safe driving commitments to help them win. Everyone age 14 and up can help.

The program, which emphasizes positive driving messages such as 2 eyes on the road, 2 hands on the wheel - is in its third year. Last year more than 6.3 million safe driving commitments were made in support of high schools across the U.S. and Canada. Online safe driving commitments can be made on behalf of registered high schools October 15-24.
