Fall is a favorite time of the year for many residents in the Greater Binghamton area.  The season has been known to be short due to unpredictable weather so Autumn can be a great opportunity to get extra "outside time" in.  The Finch Hollow Nature Center always has a full list of year-round outside activities.

For years I would pass the Finch Hollow Nature Center cutting down Oakdale Road on my way to the mall and always wondered about Finch Hollow.  As it turns out, they have a lot to offer both kids and adults.

Next week, it's a full week of activities beginning Wednesday September 18th with something for 3-5 year olds.  Kids (accompanied by an adult) can learn about birds with a "Feathered Friends" morning from 9:30 to 11am.  The program will focus on birds through an interactive presentation, craft activity, and short walk.

Adults may enjoy a guided nature adults-only walk by moonlight on Thursday, September 19th from 7:30pm-9pm.  This walk will focus on nocturnal animals as well as folklore and legends about the moon. Friday's moonlight tour is open to families with children no younger than 8.

Admission for all of these programs are only $1.00 and require reservations by calling Finch Hollow Nature Center at (607) 729-4231.  For more information on Finch Hollow Nature Center at 1394 Oakdale Road, Johnson City, click HERE.
