Authorities say Cassandra Mercincavage of Thompson has been charged with criminal homicide in connection with the death of 49-year-old Robert Hubal.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, relatives found Hubal's body in his home on Potter Hill Road in Thompson on Sunday.

Officials say Hubal had two gunshot wounds to the head and one wound to the torso.

Police say Hubal and Mercincavage had been living together. The two reportedly had been arguing recently and Mercincavage was asked to leave the residence.

Investigators had been looking for Hubal's pickup truck, which had been missing. A man and a woman reportedly had been seen in the vehicle in the Scranton area. The pickup truck later was found abandoned.

Police say the man who apparently had been in the truck was questioned by investigators and released.

Mercincavage was found by investigators in a hotel in Moosic. The gun believed to have been used in the shooting has been recovered.

Mercincavage was arraigned in New Milford shortly after her arrest.
