Binghamton's First Friday Art Walk will have a little more sense of humor when it showcases a solo exhibition of SUNY Broome Art and Design Instructor Rich Harrington this week.

The show opens at the Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts Gallery on State Street in downtown Binghamton this Friday, May 6th and will run through June 25th, with opening receptions from 6-9pm on May 6th and June 3rd during the popular First Friday Art Walks in Binghamton.

When you go, you will be treated to something a little different and a feast for your eyes.  Rich was quotes as saying, "My work is infused with a sense of humor, which embraces the audience and creates a non threatening, accessible environment."

The work consists of paintings and assemblages that use and reference games, toys, even textbooks from what the artist calls his 'formative years' (1960's and 1970's).  According to the press release, "it provokes questions about the origins of identity formation and the many influences of gender identity in particular."
