Sunshine and Splashes at Binghamton’s Polar Bear Plunge
Since 2013, listeners of the Hawk Morning Show have been vying for the chance to participate in the Hawk Morning Show Polar Bear Plunge. Those lucky enough to be randomly selected literally take a plunge into a pool of cold water and in turn, they win tickets to our Taste of Country Music Festival at Hunter Mountain.
Each year, the Hawk Morning Show Polar Bear Plunge is held on National Polar Bear Day, which is February 27th. Because this day is right in the middle of winter, we never know quite what we're going to face as far as the weather goes. We've had years where temperatures were well below zero and other years where the temperature has been in the 30's. This year, it was sunny and 50 degrees. It was practically a Joe Nichols song.
Under sunshine and a bright blue sky, five Hawk Morning Show listeners plunged themselves into a pool of cold water and walked away with a pair of three-day passes to our Taste of Country Music Festival. The Taste of Country Music Festival is the Northeast's biggest country music party and will take place June 8th-10th this year. More than 20 country stars will be on hand for the 2018 Taste of Country Music Festival, including headliners Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, and Sam Hunt.
