Immediately after Sundance Head won Season 11 of The Voice on Tuesday night (Dec. 13), fans of his and the other three finalists reacted passionately on Twitter, and they haven't stopped.

Thousands of congratulatory tweets were mixed with hundreds more lamenting another singer's defeat. Billy Gilman chimed in, as did plenty of his fans. A few viewers of the NBC reality show compared the night to the 2016 presidential elections in a less than favorable way. And at least one person on Twitter was left sobbing with joy. OK, there were dozens of teary-eyed tweets.

We've collected a sample of the best tweets from fans and the contestants. Head beat Gilman, Josh Gallagher and We McDonald to become Blake Shelton's fifth winner on The Voice and his first in two years. The 37-year-old founder of soul country impressed throughout the competition with often little-known songs, or reimagined hits. Fans loved his voice, but also his underdog story. He truly seemed to be a man with one more chance to make it in the music world.

"Thank you all so much. it has been my honor to perform for you. I will never forget this moment thank you for sharing it with me," Head tweeted.

In the weeks and months to come, Head is going to be working on a new EP or full-length album. He's certainly not the first country winner on the show — in fact, one could argue country music has dominated the 11 seasons of The Voice. Craig Wayne Boyd, Cassadee Pope and Danielle Bradbery are three other country winners, but singers like the Swon Brothers and RaeLynn were also discovered on the show.

In winning The Voice, Head wins $100,000 and lands a record deal.
