Legendary rocker-turned-country-singer Steven Tyler and country music newcomer Kelsea Ballerini will team up to announce this year's CMA Awards nominees in New York City.

The Aerosmith frontman recently released his debut country single, "Love Is Your Name," and is set to release an entire country album via Dot Records. Ballerini scored a No. 1 hit with her debut single, "Love Me Like You Mean It," and is currently making the rounds to promote her sophomore single, "Dibs." They will join together on Sept. 9 in the Big Apple to reveal the final ballots for the 49th annual CMA Awards on ABC.

"ABC has been the network home of the CMA Awards for the past 10 years and they are a wonderful partner and champion for the format," CMA CEO Sarah Trahern says in a press release. "We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate our milestone network anniversary."

Ballerini and Tyler will appear on Good Morning America to announce the nominees in five categories live from the heart of Times Square, with the announcement airing in the 7:30AM segment. Tyler will also perform "Love Is Your Name."

"When I was asked to announce the nominees for the ever-so-prestigious CMA Awards this year, I actually whispered, ‘They really want me?’" Tyler says. "I'm just humbled by the open arms of the country community and am honored to take part in this big moment."

The unlikely pairing will announce the rest of the nominees at around 8:10AM on GoodMorningAmerica.com on Yahoo!. Tyler will then visit Live With Kelly and Michael to discuss his upcoming country album and the newly-announced nominees.

Ballerini is just as enthusiastic as Tyler about taking part in the nominations.

"I've grown up watching the CMA Awards and am such a fan of everything CMA does and represents,” she says. “To be able to announce the nominations for the awards this year with the Steven Tyler makes me beyond excited."
