State Police Seek Help Finding Missing Hallstead Woman

UPDATE: Rescue crews found Colwell about 9 hours after she disappeared and she is safe.

Pennsylvania State Police in Gibson are asking for help from the public in finding a missing Hallstead woman who suffers from dementia.

Shelby Jean Colwell is a 76-year-old white female with short white hair and blue eyes. She stands at 4 feet 11 inches and weighs about 150 pounds and uses a cane to walk. Colwell was last seen swearing a red shirt with a white and blue dragon fly design, light blue pants, and white sneakers.

Colwell left her apartment at the Howard Emerson Apartments on Lackawanna Avenue in Hallstead on Tuesday August 26th at 3:55pm. It's believed that Colwell was walking north on Main Street in Hallstead Borough at 4pm on August 26th.
