1pm update: A source close to the families of Jacob and Matthew reports that both boys have been found and are home safe. We don't know the circumstances of their disappearance or how they were found, but we're glad they're home!

15-year-old Jacob Coish and 14-year-old Matthew McLaughlin of Whitney Point were supposed to go to Columbus Alternative School on Thursday March 6th, but never made it. Both boys are now considered missing.

The mothers of the boys filed a missing persons report for each boy with police Thursday evening. After speaking with Trooper Nathan Riegal, the Public Information Officer for State Police Troop C in Sidney, I can confirm that both boys are in fact missing and that their case is active.

Brandy Tillotson, best friend of Jacob's mom described Jacob as being 5'6 120 lbs and having a tattoo of a red and black star that says "loyalty" and "respect" on his left forearm.  Matthew McLaughlin is described as being 6 feet tall with hazel eyes.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Jacob Coish and Matthew McLaughlin, please call the New York State Police in Sidney at 607-561-7400.
