The New York State Division of Human Rights plans to hold a conference in mid-June in its investigation into claims of sexual discrimination by the City of Binghamton Police Chief.

Suspended City Police Officer Kristi Sager has filed a complaint against the City and Chief Joseph Zikuski, claiming she was unfairly disciplined in revenge for turning down sexual advances by the chief.

Sager was suspended after she was involved in a crash and accused of driving drunk then leaving the scene.  The disciplinary action claims that the Officer left her post.

Sager claims she and other female employees had been sexually harassed by the Police Chief and that a tracking device had been placed on her vehicle when she rebuffed the alleged advances.

The Chief has been placed on paid administrative leave while the state conducts its investigation.

April 15, Sager was found guilty of leaving the scene of the crash on Eldridge Street in Binghamton.  An appeal is planned.  Meanwhile, Sager remains suspended from the police force.
