Ahhh, St. Patrick's Day week is here and for many people in the Southern Tier, it's a day of raising pints of Guinness and forkfuls of corned beef and cabbage to the land of the green.  But did you know you can spend a lot of green on March 17th as well?  Yes, St. Patrick's Day has the potential to be a very costly day in more ways than one.

It's no secret that St. Patrick's Day is THE biggest drinking day of the year.  I've known a few people from Ireland that always found it funny how Americans associate the day with drinking because it's more of a religious holiday on the Emerald Isle.  In any case, just be aware that DUI crews will be out in full force around the Southern Tier.  Go celebrate but take a long a designated driver or call a cab.

WalletHub recently released it's annual St. Patrick's Day By The Numbers, and here are some interesting numbers from this year's report.
