Spiedies and Pork Roll to Meet in Sandwich Showdown
On Saturday, May 26th, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies became the Binghamton Spiedies for one night. It went over so well that they are bringing it back with a twist when the Double-A Yankess come to town.
It's going to be a Sandwich Showdown for the ages when the Spiedies take on theTrenton Thunder Pork Roll at NYSEG Stadium on Thursday, June 28th. So what's a Pork Roll?
It was created in 1856 by John Taylor in Hamilton Square, NJ and called "Taylor Ham." The name was later changed to the Pork Roll sandwich. I always thought a pork roll was something that I got at a Chinese Buffet.
So now you have many reasons to come to the game when the future stars for the Mets and Yankees are in town. You can buy a special $14 ticket for the game and it includes a reserved grandstand ticket and a spiedie sandwich.
On the 28th, we all can try the Pork Roll Sandwich for ourselves as it'll be on the menu for that night only and decide which tastes better. Go here to get your ticket and Binghamton Spiedie merchandise.
Giddy-Up and Let's Get Ready to Rumble with the Ponies!
