The CDC says that about 600,000 people die of heart disease in the United States every year. Think that's not a lot of people? Think again! That adds up to one in every four deaths.

You can help raise awareness and support the American Heart Association by taking part in the 25th anniversary of the Southern Tier Heart Walk. This year's Heart Walk will  be held at Binghamton University this Saturday, May 3rd from 8am until 12pm.

There will be family friendly activities during registration from 8am to 10am followed by opening and survivor ceremonies at 9:30am and then a 1 to 3 mile walk at 10am.

Any walker over the age of 18 is asked to make a donation of at least $25 to the American Heart Association. To learn how to participate, check this out.
