The concern over drought conditions continues in the Southern Tier.

About a day after Owego, Endicott and the Town of Union requested residents taken voluntary measures to conserve water, the Village of Whitney Point has now also issued an advisory.

The Village is asking residents to voluntarily conserve water where possible.

Residents are being asked to refrain from large water draws, such as filling swimming pools, washing vehicles or watering lawns.

The National Weather Service has said the below-normal levels of rain could continue into October.
