‘Sons of Anarchy’ Star Charlie Hunnam Drops Out of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Role
Looks like the producers of Fifty Shades of Grey are headed back to the drawing board and I'm not disappointed at all.
Over the weekend, it was announced that Sons of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunnam has dropped out of the much-anticipated movie.
Charlie was expected to play the lead role of Christian Grey opposite Dakota Johnson, as Anastasia Steele. Producers claimed he bailed on the project due to his “immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role.” But there are some insiders that aren’t buying that excuse because they think his TV schedule would have been worked out way before he signed on for the project.
Until I read that Charlie was being considered for the role, I had no idea who he was and that’s probably because I’ve never watched ‘Sons of Anarchy.’ To me, the 33-year-old actor looks a lot like Spencer Pratt from ‘The Hills,’ which isn’t exactly how I pictured Christian Grey to look.
Maybe the "red room" proved a bit too much for Charlie? Now that Charlie is out, who do you think should fill the role?
I think Devin Paisley is a beautiful human being. If his hair were dyed dark, I could see him pulling off the Christian Grey look. Ian Somerhalder, (who looks like a lot like a young Rob Lowe) with his chiseled jawline, blue eyes and dark hair fits the mental image I’ve got of what Christian Grey looks like perfectly, but everything I've read says he's not interested in the role. It’s too bad that Dylan McDermott isn’t 20 years younger. I’ve always had a thing for him. Maybe if a sequel is filmed, Dylan could play the “more mature” version of Christian Grey.
