I was at trivia at Gallagher's Irish Pub last night. Actually, I was working as quiz master, not playing. Then I realized that I was looking for a possible tie breaker on my phone. What if I didn't have it? I use my smartphone for everything! No joke! I watch TV, get my emails, listen to my music and talk shows, all my social networking, camera... the list goes on THIS THING RUNS MY LIFE! Trivia ends; no one cheated. So, after I announce the winning team, EVERYONE TAKES OUT THEIR SMARTPHONES! Incredible. Facebooks fire up, emails and texts fly out of the bar. I still remember my 1st cellphone that only made calls. If I put it in my pocket there was a good possibility my pants were falling down! Crazy to see how far we've come in such a short time. I digress... the patrons did not do so well at trivia last night... I have to wonder. Do you think we are relying on the mini computer in our pockets or purses too much for correct answers? No need to pay attention to your surroundings or learn about current events, facts in books or maps because we now have Google in our pockets? Hmmm...
