With Saint Patrick's Day approaching, I knew it was only a matter of time before the Shamrock Shakes would return to McDonald's.

I love these things. However, I still don't think it is minty as they used to be, say back in the 90s. I just seem to remember the mint having more of a bite to it back then. But still, I love Shamrock Shakes.

The one in the picture above was the first time I got a shamrock shake with whipped cream and a cherry. I believe they started that back in the early 2000s. Before they started putting whipped cream and cherry on top, you used to just get an awesome mint-flavored milkshake. They decided they had to get fancy I guess. I had one with whipped cream and a cherry, and since then, I order them plain, because I think the whipped cream waters down the mint flavor even more. But still, I love Shamrock Shakes.

My wife Chris can tell you stories about us jumping in the car late at night just to go to McDonald's to get a shamrock shake. There were times where we would get to the drive-thru and they would tell us the shake machine was down or was being cleaned.
One night, we drove to three different McDonald's (Endicott, Endwell, and Vestal) before we found one that had Shamrock Shakes available.

If you like them as much as I do, make sure you get them before they're gone. According to Business Insider, they will only be available through March 24th or while supplies last.

And just like the McRib sandwich, not every McDonald's carries Shamrock Shakes. You can find which McDonald's has these awesome treats by entering your ZIP code on the McDonald phone app.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to get my hands on one of these.
