Greater Binghamton is really looking forward to the PGA Tour rolling in to town Monday for the Dick's Sporting Goods Open in Endicott.  The week long golf fest is highlighted by Lady Antebellum and Sam Hunt.  This weekend you have an opportunity to get to know Sam a little better when he co-hosts Country Countdown USA Sunday night 7-10pm on 98.1 The Hawk.

Before he was having hits of his own, this week's co-host Sam Hunt had a #1 as the songwriter of Kenny Chesney's "Come Over."   Shortly after that, Keith Urban recorded the Sam Hunt song "Cop Car." That's when people began to take notice: "It was really encouraging and really validating, in a world where I felt out of place, as a football player transitioning into music, those endorsements helped me follow my heart as an artist and songwriter."

Sam described how a real life situation led to a very unique love song: "I had an experience I had in Alabama that was true to the actual story, with an airport and the police, and it gave an edge to what could have been another run-of-the-mill love song.  We felt it was relatable."

Sam also has great stories this week about Luke Bryan, Kip Moore, Hunter Hayes, Chase Rice, and Thomas Rhett.
