The British royal family announced this morning that Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge and wife of Prince William is in labor.

I feel bad for Kate (even though she knew what she was getting into) because she’s under so much pressure.  Think about it, she’s got to give birth to an heir to the throne and she’s got to look flawless. All the time.  I couldn't be a royal because I love my sweats too much.  Any woman who’s given birth will tell you that while giving birth itself is a  beautiful thing; looking beautiful after hours of hard labor isn’t that easy.  Sure, Kate has a team that’ll put her together and make her look like her fabulous self, but still. Kate might be a royal and have everything a person could want at her disposal, but she’s still a human being.

The formal announcement that a baby has been born will be made in a statement driven by car from the hospital across London and posted on an easel on the grounds of Buckingham Palace.

The baby is expected to be known formally as the prince or princess of Cambridge, and because of recent changes in the law of royal succession, will be the third in line to the throne, after Prince Charles and William. Prince Harry will be fourth.
