Rodney Atkins and his wife, Rose Falcon, recently welcomed their first child together, and in a post to social media, the new mom has revealed that just one year ago, she suffered a devastating miscarriage.

Atkins and Falcon welcomed Ryder Falcon Atkins on Dec. 14, weighing 8 lbs, 13 oz. and measuring 20 inches at birth. Speaking to People, Akins calls his baby boy "by far the most precious early Christmas present ever." On Dec. 23, Falcon turned to Instagram to share joyful pictures of herself and Atkins each holding their son, and shared her emotional news.

"On this day last year we found we found out our first pregnancy was not viable and would end in a miscarriage," she writes, adding, "So many days I thought we would never have a baby and here we are holding our precious Ry. Tonight my heart is with anyone who wants to be a mama and has been struggling. Please know miracles can and do happen."

Falcon hopes to put her painful experience to use in reaching out to others in the same situation.

"I promised myself that if I was lucky enough to have a successful pregnancy I would share my journey in hopes that I could help or comfort someone else," she states. "I’m going to try to blog between feedings as soon as I can! Love y’all! #miraclebaby #rainbowbaby."

Adkins' string of hits includes "Watching You," "If You're Going Through Hell," “These Are My People” and “Cleaning This Gun." Falcon is also a singer-songwriter; she's best known for writing songs that have been cut by Faith HillLady AntebellumEric Paslay and Jessie James Decker.

The couple married in Florida in 2013, with Atkins' 16-year-old son from a previous marriage, Elijah, serving as his father's best man. They announced they were execting a baby via social media on the Fourth of July, and revealed the sex of the baby and the name they'd chosen in September.
