Rich Found A New Piece Of Tech That Made Life Easier

I had lunch at Applebee's yesterday and when we were seated I saw a tablet on a stand on the table! I thought it was going to be another one of those menu board tablets that was there for no reason except to take up valuable real estate on the table and entice you and your guests to buy the desserts. However it was not!

This tablet was setup to allow you to order appetizers, call your waitress to the table, order refills on your drinks, it has games for the kids and you can pay your tab with it too!! Pretty cool eh?? Well here's the problems we experienced. 1st... The games are great. Keeps the kiddos occupied... but you really need one for each kid. Am I right?  Also your mini sees the over-sized tablet button that says GAMES, they click it and a window pops up saying for 99 cents the game will be unlimited... Mini clicks the button... .99 is added to the bill. Not so bad tho... its a buck.

Next, the call the waitstaff button didn't seem to work so well. Ours showed up when she normally would've checked on the table and came back 20 minutes after that to give us some weird excuse about how it summons all of the waitstaff.. and some incoherent babble and I quit listening until she halfheartedly said sorry. No biggie, I can wait a reasonable amount of time like any customer. The best part was getting the total bill on the tablet, move your tip calculator, swipe and go! Quick, easy and off.  Good stuff !
