You might love to smother your food in ketchup, but I’ll tell you this right now, if you do and happen to be vacationing in Fort Myers, Florida, you'll want to avoid this place.

Mad Fresh Bistro in Fort Myers is banning the use of ketchup for any customer over the age of 10.

Seriously.

Mad Fresh's menu reads: "Chef reserves the right to refuse service of ketchup." Yep, that includes burgers and fries. Oh, and the Bistro's French trained chef wants customers to trust his cooking and seasoning expertise, so there won't be any salt shakers on the table, either.

According to a statement by the restaurant "We know, we know. People love their ketchup. But honestly, be ready. If you're over 10 years old, ketchup will NOT be provided. Similarly, salt won't be making an appearance next to your meal, either. We simply ask that you trust us. We know what we're doing! Part of the MAD experience is to trust the chef, and not have preconceived notions of what your dish is going to need."

This makes me think about an episode of a TV show I saw years ago (I can’t remember what show) where candidate number two was hired for a job because they tasted their food before putting salt on it. The reason they were hired was because the other person being interview for the job instantly grabbed the salt instead of giving the food a chance before modifying it. The employer liked that candidate two gave it a try first.

But still...
