If Governor Cuomo is interested in leaving the United States, New York Republicans are willing to pay for his transportation.

The state Republican committee announced a one-way bus ticket for a trip from Albany to Montreal had been purchased for use on Friday.

The governor's comment during a Manhattan appearance on Wednesday that America "was never that great" has received widespread attention across the country.

Cuomo was criticizing President Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan during a speech.

In a statement, Jessica Proud, a spokeswoman for the state GOP committee, said "love it or leave it; that's your choice, Mr. Cuomo."

A spokeswoman for the governor on Wednesday said he "believes America is great and that her full greatness will be fully realized when every man, woman, and child has full equality. America has not yet reached its maximum potential."

There was no indication Cuomo would take advantage of the free trip to Montreal.
