Red Cross Provides Free Smoke Alarms

The American Red Cross is offering free smoke alarms to area residents. Officials are highlighting the Home Fire Preparedness Campaign during National Fire Prevention Month. Any Resident can apply for installation of a smoke alarm by calling (607) 785-7207 or emailsmokealarms.st@redcross.org.

There are no income or other requirements for the program. Local fire departments are installing the devices and the Red Cross is also provide free fire safety training on smoke alarm maintenance and escape plans should a fire break out.
