If you're looking to get out of town but you don't want to go too far, I have a couple of suggestions for you.

First, read Traci's story on the 10 Ways to Stretch Your Tank of Gas. Second, head to Watkins Glen.

It's a scenic short drive and it won't take your whole tank of gas....At least it shouldn't, if it does then you might want to take step three and get a new/new to you vehicle.

If you enjoy racing especially the classic racers and cars then you need to visit the International Motor Racing Research Center (IMRRC) in Watkins Glen. They want to preserve and share the history of Motorsports.

This Saturday, May 14th is no exception. They have a series called "Center Conversations." On Saturday, it'll be about war hero and racer, Ray Crawford.

Ray was a 1950's era Indianapolis 500 racer. He was also a combat fighter ace and test pilot. Andrew Layton wrote a book called "Ray Crawford - Speed Merchant: A California Grocer's Love Affair with Rick, from P-38 Lightnings to the Indianapolis 500.

Adam will speak at this free event at 1pm on Saturday and is open to everyone.

To see other events coming to the IMRRC including honoring Roger Penske on June 30th, go here.
