I tried for many years to quit smoking, then I finally decided that I would stop when my first grandchild was born…now I’ve got six healthy grand kids and I can be here for them.
One day at a time – that’s the way to stop any bad habit.
I picture myself not smoking and being happier.
I don’t want to die like my grandmother did from emphysema – that’s the motivation that I need.
When I had trouble walking up my stairs – I couldn’t catch my breath – that’s when I knew that I needed to stop smoking
Saying this prayer helps me – God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change… the courage to change the things I can…and the wisdom to know the difference. Not smoking is something that I have the courage to do.
I got tired of coughing all the time. It hasn’t been easy, but I do feel better every day!
I got tired of smelling like smoke…by kids said I smelled like smoke all the time – it got to the point where I was always thinking about smelling like smoke, so I said that enough was enough and I had to stop…that was three years ago and I keep doing it one day at a time
