Craft beer is one of the hottest things that help keep you cool in the summer. Are you a Craft Brewer and want to let everyone know about your products?  This is the perfect way to get noticed...and you could win an award too.

It's a new State Fair competition to find the best beers in 20 categories including the Best-In-Show. If you win this prestigious award, you'll be given the inaugural Governor's Excelsior Cup.

The Great New York State Fair and Governor Cuomo have announced a professionally judged beer competition to help promote New York's growing craft beverage industry. They will give medals to the best beers in 20 categories with the highest scoring beer in all categories winning the Governor's Excelsior Cup.

It's open to any Craft Brewer in New York. As many as three gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded in each of the 20 categories and includes major styles of beers like IPAs and Lagers.

Niche and emerging styles like sour beers or fruit and spice beers will also be judged by top professional and amateur judges from around the state.

All entries must be submitted by July 24th. They will sample submitted beers in an official, private judging session on July 29th. Your brewery can enter more than one variety of beer and each entry is $45.

A complete list of rules, categories and how to enter can be found here. The Governor's Excelsior Cup winner and other winners will be displayed in the Horticulture Building during the Fair from August 23rd to September 4th.
