Pew Research has some interesting information for the 68% of Americans that own a smartphone. And with that, "an increasing number of digital interactions occur within the content of mobile apps."  You know how when you download an app and it asks for access to a variety of information?  You might want to rethink automatically clicking "yes" the next time you are in the Google Play Store.

An analysis of over 1 million apps available on the Google Android operating system find that apps can request 235 different permissions from smartphone users, with 70 of those allowing access to some kind of personal information.

Android is said to be working on updates that change the structure of these permissions to make it safer, much like the Apple App Store currently does with Apple devices.
