The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is in a Pothole Blitz for the next several days.  The concerted pothole repair effort launched April 6 and continues through the 17th for District 4 that includes Susquehanna and Wayne Counties.

PennDOT says it expects 29 maintenance crews to lay about six tons of asphalt a day over the two week period, totaling 1,7000 tons of material.

Transportation officials have rented three mobile pothole patching machines and are sending out 25 rollers, 10 hotboxes that store hot asphalt behind the trucks, and over 100 dump trucks.

Private contractors and utility crews working on state roads are also encouraged to fix potholes within their limits of work during the period.

The effort was launched April 6 to coincide with the expected opening of area asphalt plants.
