The Binghamton Police Officer who filed a lawsuit in a sexual discrimination complaint against the Police Chief and the City is dropping the issue.

The lawyer for Kristi Sager says his client is accepting a 60 day suspension without pay and will be back on the police force as a Patrol Officer when the suspension is complete.

Chief Joseph Zikuski was accused of making sexual advances toward Sager and others and taking revenge against Sager for her shunning his advances.

Sager claimed Zikuski had her movements monitored, targeting her for disciplinary action, including charges of leaving her post and neglecting duty.

Sager has since been convicted of leaving the scene of an accident, which happened when she was off-duty.

Zikuski was placed on paid administrative leave after Sager's suit was filed and an independent investigation into police practices was launched.

A statement from Mayor Richard David's Office following word that Sager's suit was being dropped says there was already a review of Zikuski's administrative leave situation scheduled this week to go over a brief of the investigation by Coughlin and Gerhart.  There was no official word on Zikuski's status at this point.

Following Sager's decision to drop the case, both sides said the issues were resolved and there would be no further comment.
