Johnson City detectives are awaiting additional medical evidence as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of an 11-year-old boy.

The child's body was discovered in his home on the South Side of the village.

Johnson City Police Chief Brent Dodge said authorities were notified around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Dodge Tuesday afternoon said no one has been charged in connection with the child's death, which has been classified as "suspicious."

The police chief said an autopsy was performed at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. He said detectives may receive the results of toxicology tests in about two weeks.

Dodge said New York State Police forensic investigators have assisted his agency. The Broome County District Attorney's office has been kept informed about the progress of the case.

The name of the fifth-grade boy has not been made public.
