Some things change and we wish they would just stay the same. It's true in life and it's true in our favorite products. Perfect examples are McDonald's and Pepsi.

A few years back, some "know it all's" didn't like the ingredients that McDonald's were using in their french fries. So Mickey D's changed it.

Did the "know it all's" go to McDonald's and eat their fries? No....and neither did many consumers. I even remember my son, Devon telling me that he didn't like their fries anymore and didn't want to eat them anymore.

The only good thing about that was I got to eat his fries. McDonald's quietly changed the recipe back to the old way and we began eating their fries again. Take that "know it all's."

Now it looks like Pepsi may be doing the same thing. They are putting aspartame back into some of it's diet beverages less than a year after removing it.

The sweetener had been linked to cancer in lab mice and was blamed on declining sales because they thought that customers were concerned about aspartame. They took the sweetener out and consumers stayed away anyway. People were dissatisfied over the change in flavor without the aspartame. So they are putting it back.

Pepsi MAX will be coming back this fall as Pepsi Zero Sugar and will have aspartame. Diet Pepsi Classic Sweetener Blend will have aspartame too. Diet Pepsi will continue to be sweetened without aspartame.
