It's the New York State "Path Through History Weekend" on Saturday and Sunday, October 12th and 13th with hundreds of events happening at historic and cultural destinations throughout this great state.

Once again this year, the Nanticoke Valley Historical Society will be participating. It's "Haunted by Halloween" with a riot of orange and black decorations of Halloweens past as they cast a magical spell over the museums.

There will be tricks, treats and Tarot readings for all and costumes are encouraged. If you have your own Halloween story from the past that you want to share, you can contact the museum curator at nyhscurator@hotmail.com

They'll be hosting events in their museum buildings from 1 to 4 p.m. and the great part is that you'll be able to go through all of the Museum Buildings and get a guided tour.

The buildings are all in the Town of Maine and located at the following:

Nanticoke Valley Historical Society Janet W Bowers Museum, 13 Nanticoke Rd.

Schoolhouse Number 4, 14 Nanticoke Rd.

Pitcher’s Mill, 2819 NYS RTE 26.

These events are all part of the New York State's Path Through History Weekend program that showcases New York State's rich and fascinating history. It features hundreds of events happening at cultural destinations throughout the state. You can find out more about Path Through History here.
