They were finally able to get the season officially underway at Five Mile Point Speedway with 129 teams in the pit area and they look to keep it going this Saturday evening with "Pack the Track Night."

First of all, congratulations to Joey Colsten as he officially opened the 68th season with a win in the Modified feature. Colsten is a second generation winner as Joey is the son of Dirt Hall of Fame and Southern Tier legend, Mike Colsten.

2018 is going to be a great year at the track and one of the new things at Five Mile Point Speedway is the foam blocks on the track. They did the job that was needed last weekend.

Every driver that crashed was able to walk away including Xcel 600 rookie, Chelsey Beebe. She hit the foam blocks, full throttle in turn 1. She was shaken but not stirred as she got out of the car under her own power. It could have been a bad incident without the foam blocks.

They look to get back at it again this Saturday night and they want to "Pack the Track" with grandstand admission at only $5. As always, Kids 12 and younger get in for free.
