Our News Director Kathy Whyte reports that at least people suffered injuries in an overnight fire in Johnson City that sent them to the hospital. One of the two people transported to the hospital is said to be a firefighter.  The nature of the injuries is not known.

Broome County Emergency Service Dispatchers began sending fire crews to the Floral Apartments at 85 Floral Avenue in Johnson City around 3:10 this morning. Within 15 minutes, the call escalated to a three alarm fire.

Initial reports said there were several residents trapped in the building, but less than a half hour later, dispatchers said that everyone had been said that everyone had been evacuated. There are about 35 apartment units in the sprawling complex near the Binghamton City line.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
