If you had trouble getting out of bed this morning, it could be because you had an amazing weekend and need some time to recover. Or it could be because you suffer from "sleep drunkenness."

Say what?

According to researchers at Stanford University, sleep drunkenness is a legitimate thing that affects one-in-seven adults.

Specific symptoms include confusion and excessive weariness immediately after waking up. Sleep Drunkenness is so common that one out of seven Americans suffer from it.

This explains so much. I can't tell you how many times I've woken up in the morning and felt "off," but hadn't had a drop to drink and had no clue what was going on or why I felt the way I did. And how many times have you commented that your kid looked like a drunk sailor when they woke up? Makes sense now doesn't it?

If you're not a “morning person,” there might be something really wrong with you and you might be dealing with an honest-to-goodness disorder.
