Nothing says fall like an apple.  Known as nature's most perfect fruit, local apples are one of the perks of living in Upstate New York.  If you've never been to the Newark Valley Apple Festival, do yourself a favor and go this weekend.  The family will love it as I did the first time I went and Newark Valley is always so beautiful to visit.

The Newark Valley Apple Fest is Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm on Route 38, one mile north of Newark Valley.  Each year they always seem to add new things to the festival and that keeps families coming back again and again. New this year, enjoy demonstrations of skills from the 1800's, plus new kids activities and games, a larger than ever apple dessert area and a new stage for 2 full days of music.

This year's festival promises more food and apples are plentiful and available by the bushel or bag.  Save room for the homemade barbq, soup and salt potatoes. A nice tour of the Farmstead museum and a horse and wagon ride should also be on your list of things to do.

Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for students, $18 family rate and parking is always FREE.  The Newark Valley Apple Festival will be held rain or shine but we all have our fingers crossed for a perfect fall weekend in the heart of Newark Valley.
