Football season is well underway and let's just say that you and your friends at work have created a fantasy football account with DraftKings or FanDuel. Just innocent fun, right? Well, maybe not. If the Attorney General of New York has his way, your fantasy sports account might get squashed.

New York's Attorney General. Eric Schneiderman, has thrown the first punch at DraftKings and FanDuel, saying that the two largest fantasy sports operators are actually engaged in illegal gambling and on Tuesday, he issued them cease and desist orders.

Schneiderman argues that "Daily Fantasy Sports are creating the same public health and economic concerns as other forms of gambling."

DraftKings fired back, saying it will pursue legal action to ensure that its New York customers can continue to play. FanDuel, which is based in New York, accused the Attorney General of seeking publicity and insists that they've operated lawfully in New York for several years.
