If you've ever thought it'd be nice to have an easy way to get information on hunting, fishing, wildlife watching and other outdoor activities, there's now an app for that.

New York State has launched the "New York Fish and Wildlife" app just in time for the summer travel season.

The State Department of Environmental Conservation Developed the app in conjunction with the Parks by Nature Network at no cost to the state or to those of us who will download the app.

The app will provide advance GPS mapping features, news advisories, weather alerts, social networking, photo sharing and more.

You can grab the app in the iTunes app store, in your Android Market or at the Pocket Ranger website.
