New York State Fair Nominated in Best State Fair Contest

A lot is happening with the NYS Fair. First, the Fair wanted to be more diverse with their music at Chevy Court. They are known for having Country and Classic Rock artists playing.

For example, the Oak Ridge Boys & Joe Nichols performed yesterday (9/1). However the music diversity may have backfired on them.

Meghan Trainor was supposed to perform on Thursday but she dropped out last month to undergo vocal chord surgery. She canceled the remainder of her tour for the year as well. This is a legitimate excuse.

I'm not so sure about this one. It's been announced that Snoop Dogg has canceled tonight's performance at the Chevy Court because he's sick. NAS will take his place. My advice (which is free) is to stick with the country artists, they won't disappoint you.

Speaking of the NYS Fair, they've been nominated by in USA TODAY's 2015 10Best Readers' Choice travel award contest.

The panel selected the Fair as a contender for the Best State Fair contest. It runs for 4 weeks and you can vote once a day during the contest. It ends Monday, September 28th at noon.

The winners of 10Best will be announced on Friday, October 2nd at noon. Go here to vote for the NYS Fair as the best State Fair.
