Every year, one of my favorite stops at the Great New York State Fair was their infamous Butter sculpture in the Dairy Building.  My family would "ooh" and "ahh" every year at the site of the butter sculpture.  And then all us kids would enjoy the best bagel of our lives smothered in butter and cream cheese, followed by a soft serve ice cream cone.

This year's unveiling of the 2016 Butter Sculpture pays tribute to our hard-working Olympic athletes, complete with a swimmer, basketball player, runner and volleyball player, in--you guessed it-- pure butter.  The actual title is "Milk Life Celebrates The Success of Team USA and the Athletes of New York State."

This will be the New York State Fair's 48th sculpture.  The Great New York State Fair runs August 25th through Labor Day in Syracuse, New York.  Click HERE to find out more about the daily events and entertainment schedule.
