There is a new resident at Animal Adventure in Harpursville. It's a female Giraffe named April. She is a 13 year old, 16 foot tall Reticulated giraffe from a Catskill Game Farm.

She'll join with another resident Reticulated giraffe, a male named Oliver.

April will be unveiled to the public, along with Oliver tomorrow (9/19) at 12:30pm at the Animal Adventure Park Giraffe Barn.

April and Oliver have been introduced after a quarantine period and they reportedly are getting along very well. Oliver came to Animal Adventure beginning in May.

He was the 1st Giraffe to call Broome County home in 50 years. They hope to bring a living piece of history to Broome County.  Animal Adventure want to propagate Reticulated Giraffes.

April and Oliver come from parks that encourage hands on learning. So they both love attention and treats.
